@ The London Buddhist Centre, 51 Roman Road, Bethnal Green
Cost Full: £0.00
Our work lives can often feel disjointed from our Buddhist lives, but working in a team can be a way to deepen our practice and have a positive ethical impact. This day is for anyone who has an idea to start a business with other Buddhists, or anyone who would like to work with those who do.
The day will start with a talk about the value of right livelihood from Jnanavaca, followed by short talks from Abhayanandi about Lama’s Pyjamas and Gabi about New View Letting Agents in Cambridge. We’ll then be facilitating people to pitch ideas and form groups. The main activity of the day will be to fill out a Buddhist Business Model Canvas, an established model in the business world that we’ve expanded to include aspects of spiritual practice. At the end of the day, the teams will pitch their ideas to a friendly “Dragon’s Den” style panel of investors - Keturaja from Windhorse Trust, Amalavajra from Future Dharma Fund, Suryagupta from the LBC and Milly from Bethnal Green Ventures. So you’ll end the day with a tonne of insightful feedback from investors, contacts to get some startup money, as well as team members and a fleshed out idea for a Buddhist Business!
10am – 5pm. Bring vegan/veg lunch to share. Free, but booking is essential.
